Braces are a non-removable device that adjusts the position of the teeth if a patient has a disturbed bite. They are a series of locks which are stuck to the outer or inner surface of the teeth with a special dental adhesive (bond). Braces have a groove through which runs an orthodontic arch that has "shape memory". The resistance of the arch when bent to a curved jaw - is the force that slowly but steadily aligns dentition during orthodontic treatment by braces. |
Conceptual new technology in orthodontology:
The “Damon” system is a combination of high-tech self-legating passive type braces, revolutionary philosophy of treatment by Dr. Dwight Damon and benefits of aesthetic braces. The main feature of the system is very low friction of the arch in the grooves of the braces and, as a consequence, the application of light forces for teeth movements in all stages of orthodontic treatment. |
