Caries is the disease which dentists encounter most of all. This is a pathology consisting of the demineralization (erosion of minerals that form enamel) and the destruction of dental hard tissues which lead to the formation of cavity. This occurs because of the impact of the so-called cariogenic microflora, i.e., bacteria that produce organic acids and |
create an acidic environment in the oral cavity. In the initial stage caries appears as a dark or white spot on the tooth surface. At this stage it is sufficient to provide remineralization - restoration of a sufficient number of minerals with a special solution. |
